Had a bunch of crazy kids running today, from 5th grade to 12th grade, girls and boys. We all met at the Enology Building at the edge of the MSU North Farm. A lot nicer weather today, a little windy, but mostly sunny and in the high 40’s F. As we were getting warmed up, the MSU campus police were doing SWAT training with guys creeping around the area! Anyway, we finally got started around 4 Pm. The junior high kids went for about 30 minutes at an easy pace, the older boys went for 5.1 miles, which for the faster couple was not really much longer. The roads were still a bit muddy, but not bad. We cruised along at a decent pace then, 3 of them got ahead of me. They kept up a nice steady pace, then Joseph got bored and picked it up some more. He got so far ahead, I couldn’t tell what time he ended up running, I assume in the mid 6 minute range. When everyone got done, they did six 150m or so strides. We stretched a while and waited for all the parents to show up.
Not a bad day all in all, calves are feeling better and better!
